My quick fix make up tips!

So I have recently been trying out some beauty tips and I have come up with some of the most useful make up tips and beauty hacks! Hopefully this should help to enhance your look and save you time and frustration.

1. I always find that my eye shadow is not as bright when i put it onto my eyelids. Recently i have come across a beauty tip that stops you having to layer lots of eye shadow on. When i first came across it I was slightly baffled that something so simple worked so well. I found that if you apply your eye shadow with a damp brush your colour is so much more vibrant and it is smoother to apply

2. I struggled to always get my winged eyeliner looking perfect until I came across this hack, all you need is a spoon! You can use the curves and edges of the spoon to create the perfect look (yes it's that simple!).

3.if you want your perfume scent to stay as long as possible make sure you spray it: behind your ear, at the base of your throat, the inside of your forearm, inside elbow crease and behind your knee. This trick will keep you smelling fresher for longer!

4. When you paint your nails replace the clear base coat with a white nail varnish instead as once you apply your colour on top you with have a brighter colour!

5. When applying mascara you want bold, eyelashes that stand out right? To make your eyelashes stand out pull your lashes towards your nose as it will make your lashes stand up rather than making them heavy with mascara. I use this all the time and I get a thick long eyelash effect!

I hope that some of these tricks are helpful!

How long does make up last?

Most people don't think that make up goes out of date but it does. Out of date make up can change colour or can have a funny smell. Although out of date foundation wont make you sick it will cause break outs. Expired make up will give you a bad even caked finish and no matter what you do it will not look good!

                              Mascara

  • Mascara lasts 2-3 months
  • Chuck it once it starts to smell funny and goes clumpy!
  • TIP: Stop sharing your mascara! its a definite way to spread germs. If you do have to share, use disposable applicators and dont double dip your applicator,

  Liquid foundation/Concealer

  • Liquid foundation lasts 6-12 months
  • Once the layers have separated throw it away!
  • TIP: Keep make up out of the sun because the UV rays can destroy preservatives and it will make the make up spoil quicker.

                                    Lipstick and Lip-gloss

  • Lipstick & Lip-gloss lasts 2 years
  • If your lipstick is dry or your lip-gloss is extra sticky its time to get rid of them as they have probably gone bad
  • TIP: Keep your lips moisturized by putting Vaseline on them overnight

                                                  Nail polish

  • Nail polish lasts 1-2 years
  • If it has separated or is extra goopy its time to say goodbye.
  • Once out of date the nail polish will not blend even if it is shaken.

   Powder, eye shadow and blusher

•Powdered cosmetics last for about 2 years.
   • The out of date powders tend to be more flaky.
•TIP: invest in some brush shampoo because if you clean your cosmetic tools Often it will reduce breakouts and will prevent bacteria building up on your brushes or sponges.

             Fragrances

• perfume lasts between 8-10 years
• When your perfume lightens or smells different you should think about buying a new one and getting rid of the out of date one.
TIP: keep your perfume out of the bright light and keep it in a cool place.

Look for the open jar symbol on your cosmetics. This will tell you how long your cosmetics will last after you open them for example the symbol in the picture means that your cosmetic items will last for 12 months. While i was doing my research for this blog post i found out that this symbol has been in used for since 2007 (8 years).

Getting ready for exams! My top 10 tips!

It can be difficult to get prepaired for exams you should be revising but it's just so boring! At the moment I am going through the process of mock exams as I have been preparing I thought I would run through how I get focused and how I organise my pencil case.

Step 1
Make sure you have a timetable with all of your exam dates, times and seat numbers as you will only get stressed if you don't know what your doing.

Step 2
Make yourself a revision timetable so you know that you have regular breaks and evenly split you time between subjects.

Step 3
Learn some revision tips, for example create a mind map or colourful way of presenting the information as you areore likely to remember the information if you are interested whilst learning it. Personally my favourite way to revise is to make flash cards and although they are time consuming they actually help a lot because you can separate them into different subjects and you and your friends can test each other.

Step 4
Check you have everything you need for your exam for example If you have maths make sure you have a compass, protractor, ruler, pencils, pens and whatever other equipment you may need. When organising my pencil case I like to make sure the things I am most likely to need are easily accessible. It's just so awkward rummaging through your pensil case when everyone's silent your trying to be quite but somehow manage to make moe noise than usual.

Step 5
Make sure you have a nutritious breakfast before you leave for your exam because being Hungary will only distract you.if your exam is after lunch why not try eating a salad if you want to be healthy or each your favourite food to relax you.

Step 6
Make sure you are slightly early to your exam because if you are late you will be panicking and that's not going to get you A's.

Step 7
Before you enter the exam make sure you know how much time you have on each question so that you don't end up rushing and making mistakes.

Step 8
WATER! I can't explain how important it is it may only seem like a small factor but if you don have it you'll regret it. Bring your water in a clear bottle with no label. The water will calm you when you get those unavoidable waves of nerves it will focus you to what you are doing and you might just need a drink.

Step 9
Focus on your exam don't worry about the results because In that exam it is the only time you will be able control what you get I have learned that if you worry you are going to stress yourself out and bring down your grade.

Step 10
RELAX! If you relax the rest will fall into place. I had a 5hr art exam and I was quite nervous as I hadn't experienced an exam like this before. To be honest I was completely stressing out but then I decided that I would make my self a hot chocolate to drink on the journey to school and it worked I felt so much more comfortable and relaxed also you could spray your favourite perfume on you so it will calm you down because there will be a familiar scent.

I really hope these tips work for you and if you have exams good luck and don't stress!
